- Person is given the opportunity to receive Christ

B. Growth
1) Spend time in God’s Word, the Bible.
- The Bible reveals Who God is and why we would want a relationship with him. (Genesis 1:1, John 3:16, etc.)
- The Bible reveals all that God has promised us. (Proverbs 3:5-6, John 14:1-3)
- The Bible is the TRUTH! (2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Peter 1:24-25, 2 Peter 1:20)
- The Bible tells about Jesus and what He did and is doing for us. (Romans 5:8, John 19, Romans 6:23)
- The Bible give us guidance about how to live our lives so that we can experience the abundance of life that God promises. (Colossians 3:12-17, Romans 12:1-2, I John 4)
- The Bible helps us resist temptation. (Psalm 119:11, Matthew 4)
2) Teach a proper understanding of Christ.
- Only a true understanding of Christ can effect real change in our lives.
- Who Christ is: John 1:1, John 3:16, John 8:58, Hebrews 1
- What Christ sacrificed and why: Philippians 2:2-5, John 19, I John 4:9-10
- The reality of Christ’s resurrection: The Gospel accounts, John 11:35, 1 Corinthians 15:13-19
- How Christ is working in and for us now: Romans 8:34, Colossians 2:10, Ephesians 3:18
- The future Christ promised here on earth and in heaven with Him: John 14:1-3, John 16:26-28, Colossians 3:24, Ephesians 1:13-14
3) Create an atmosphere of love.
- Love is intentionally doing something for another person in Jesus’ name regardless of the cost or consequences to yourself.
- Teenagers respond to Christ-like love.
- Christ modeled love.
- We are commanded to love.
- Love distinguishes Christians from the world.
- Who would you do more for?
Someone who tells you what to do?
Someone who loves you?- Love Languages
1. Personal Attention
2. Verbal Expressions
3. Physical Expressions
4. Acts of Service
5. Extended Time- The degree in which we effectively communicate the love of God will determine the degree in which we see lives changed.
4) Build a contacting ministry.
- Contacting involves GOING…
- Meet students in their own ENVIRONMENT
- Do things STUDENTS like to do
- Go to SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
- Spend TIME with students
- Be an EXAMPLE to students
- SHARE your LIFE with students
- LISTEN to what students have to say
- 1/1 or small group relationships
- Jesus modeled contacting…
- John 3:22-Jesus and his disciples went out into the countryside where He spent some TIME with them…
- Matthew 4:18-22 – Calling the disciples
- Matthew 9:9-11 – Jesus has dinner at Matthew’s house
- Luke 10:38-41 – Jesus visits Mary & Martha
- Jesus commands us to Go and Establish Relationships
- John 17:18 – As my Father sent me…
- John 13:34 - …as I have loved you, so you must love one another…
- Luke 10:3 – I am sending you out as lambs among wolves…
- Most spiritual growth takes place in the context of RELATIONSHIP, therefore, an active contacting ministry is essential to producing students who are LEARNING, LIVING, & LEADING.
5) Make prayer a priority.
- Jesus showed us that prayer is essential to the success of any ministry – Luke 5:16 “Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”
- We must remember that God is the One doing the work, not us – Philippians 2:13 “...For it is GOD Who works in you, to will and to act according to HIS good purpose.
- “The success of any ministry is directly proportional to the amount of prayer behind it.”
- There are 3 main aspects for building a Prayer ministry…
- You pray for the students and ministry
- Teach the students to pray for each other and the ministry
- Motivate outside people to pray for the students
and ministry.6) Worship God.
- Who or what we worship is Who or what we will live for.
